With 15 years as a registered Senior Speech Therapist, I bring extensive experience working with children and complex cases across Brisbane. As a mother myself, I understand the importance of creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.
Over the past 15 years, I've developed deep expertise in supporting children with a wide range of speech and language needs. I specialize in complex cases including autism spectrum disorder at all levels, Down syndrome, and children facing multiple challenges. My experience spans from early intervention with toddlers through supporting school-aged children, helping families navigate developmental delays, language difficulties, and stuttering.
Having worked extensively within the NDIS framework since its inception, I understand the complexities of funding and reporting. I excel at preparing detailed assessment reports that accurately reflect your child's needs and maximize funding opportunities. I help families navigate the NDIS system with confidence, ensuring you receive optimal support while developing tailored therapy plans that align with your NDIS goals.
I believe in bringing therapy to where your child feels most comfortable. My mobile service means I come to your home, your child's school, daycare, or another location that suits your family. This approach allows children to learn in familiar environments where they feel safe and confident, leading to better outcomes.
Working in natural environments also allows me to observe how your child communicates in their daily routines, which provides invaluable insights for developing effective, functional therapy goals. Parents and caregivers can participate more easily in sessions, learn strategies in real-time, and implement them immediately in everyday situations.
I work collaboratively with families, building lasting relationships and creating meaningful progress together. Every child is unique, and I tailor my therapy approach to suit your child's individual needs, interests, and learning style. I believe in making therapy engaging and playful - because children learn best when they're having fun.
My sessions incorporate play-based learning, evidence-based techniques, and family-centered practices. I focus on building your child's confidence and communication skills while supporting you as parents with strategies and knowledge you can use every day.
Throughout my career, I've gained particular expertise in working with children who have complex, multifaceted needs. This includes children with autism spectrum disorder at all levels of support, children with Down syndrome, those with multiple diagnoses, and children requiring intensive intervention. I understand that no two children are alike, and I bring patience, creativity, and clinical expertise to every case.
I hold a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and am a certified practicing member of Speech Pathology Australia. I maintain my professional development through regular training in the latest evidence-based practices, particularly in areas of autism support, language development, and NDIS best practices.
After returning from maternity leave, I'm excited to expand my practice and support more families on their speech therapy journey. This personal experience has given me even deeper empathy for the challenges parents face and the importance of flexible, family-friendly therapy services.
Whether you need a comprehensive assessment, ongoing therapy, a second opinion, or NDIS support, I'm here to help your child communicate with confidence. I look forward to partnering with you to support your child's communication development.
